Levaquin is the trade name for Levofloxacin, an anti-bacterial drug marketed in the United States by Ortho-McNeil Pharmaceuticals, a division of Johnson & Johnson. The drug has wide application in the treatment of infections, including urinary tract infections, pneumonia and abdominal infections. The most serious side effect of Levaquin is the risk of serious tendonitis, including the rupture of a tendon.
