I’m Keith Spencer, a family law attorney with Bailey & Gaylen. As we slowly emerge from the pandemic lockdown, the courts are starting to relax a few more restrictions on courtroom hearings and in person testimony. Although the Texas Supreme Court has instructed that jury trials cannot commence until later this summer, certain in person hearings are now being allowed. However, there are still restrictions upon the number of people allowed in the courtroom. The vast majority of proceedings are still being held via zoom and other media platforms. A significant backlog or cases still exists and trials are still delayed.
Most family law cases are resolved in mediation prior to trial and parties are encouraged to participate in mediation. The success rates are very high for settlement. Mediation can save the parties both time and money. It also allows for more creative and workable solutions.
At Bailey and Galyen, we strive to help our clients resolve their cases in the most cost effective and creative resolution of their cases. Give us a call to discuss how your case can be resolved to your satisfaction without having to wait until the court backlog allows your case to be heard.
