Duana Boswell-Loechel grew up in Moore, Oklahoma and moved to League City, Texas her junior year of high school where she attended and graduated from Clear Creek High School. Duana earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Biology and Marine Fisheries from Texas A&M Galveston and a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities from University of Houston Clear Lake. After earning her BA, Duana took time off from school to start a family. When her twin daughters were a year old, she entered South Texas College of Law- Houston, where she earned her JD in 2004. She started her own firm, Loechel Law Firm, PLLC in 2005, where her practice focused on Probate, Family Law and Criminal defense. Duana is also a certified mediator in civil, probate, family and CPS cases. After closing her firm in 2009 due to Hurricane Ike, she worked for Lone Star Legal Aid until June, 2017. She was the Director of Litigation for family and probate for Legal Aid, but also represented clients in bankruptcy, Hague matters, landlord-tenant, public and subsidized housing, credit card defense, social security and public benefits, foreclosures, and appeals. Duana received a resolution from the Texas State Bar for Pro bono work in 2009 and in 2015, Duana obtained her board certification in Family Law and was voted one of Houstonia Magazines top 100 lawyers.
