Bailey & Galyen Attorney Helps Raise Money for TBI Victims
Attorney Michael Galyen, Executive Vice President and personal injury lawyer with Bailey & Galyen, will be running in the Chicago Marathon on Sunday, October 13, 2024, to help raise money for the Brain Injury Recovery Foundation. Galyen was recently interviewed on CW33 in Dallas about his involvement with the organization and his reasons for running the race.
“As a personal injury attorney, I have represented clients who have suffered catastrophic injuries, including traumatic brain injury,” Galyen told host Jenny Achondo. “These injuries can be devastating to the victims and their families, and the recovery period can be long and hard. When I saw this organization and learned what they did, I knew I had to get involved.”
The Brain Injury Recovery Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization, was founded by Chris Lieberman, a former marathon runner who suffered a traumatic brain injury in a fall from a ladder. Lieberman spent some time in a coma and in treatment at various facilities across Texas, including Dallas. After learning to walk again, he knew that he needed to do something to help others who suffer similar types of injuries. The Brain Injury Recovery Foundation currently partners with a number of world-class marathons, including the New York, Berlin, and Twin Cities runs. The foundation has programs that foster awareness and promote prevention of TBI and that also offer financial guidance to injured individuals.
