From Wrongful Denial of Visitation to Full Custody in a Matter of Months
Through the efforts of the proven family law attorneys at Bailey & Galyen, a Memphis man, Jonathan, who had been wrongfully denied visitation with his young daughter, now has primary custody.
According to Jonathan, he had not seen his daughter for nearly a year when he first contacted Bailey & Galyen. His marriage to the child’s mother had been short-lived. Jonathan had a court order allowing him visitation, but his ex-wife refused access to his young daughter and even had the court issue a restraining order against him.
When Jonathan first contacted Bailey & Galyen, he had an impending hearing and needed almost immediate representation. Because he was traveling for his job, he could not be at the hearing, so Bailey & Galyen family law attorney Anna Nika went to the hearing as his advocate. To his surprise, Jonathan received a call shortly after the hearing telling him he would see his daughter in a couple of days.
Over the following months, while Jonathan had regular visitation with his daughter, he still met with resistance. Attorney Nika went back to the court and got Jonathan even more time with his daughter. The situation remained problematic, though, with the mother calling Child Protective Services and making baseless allegations about Jonathan. Eventually, Anna filed a petition with the court to have Jonathan awarded primary custody, and the court granted the motion.
When talking about his experience with Bailey & Galyen, Jonathan stresses how obvious it was, from the very beginning, that Anna and the entire firm cared about him and his legal problems. He saw that they weren’t intimidated by the unfounded accusations made by his ex-wife and that they worked tirelessly to do what was in the best interests of his daughter.
